Weighing the Evidence: Examining the Fruit of Charles Finney & Jonathan Edwards

2012 | Documentary | Semi-Finalist

Revival: a hot topic with varying philosophies and orthopraxies. Two of America’s most influential theologians, Jonathan Edwards and Charles Finney, have greatly impacted America’s current view of revival. With barely a century spanning them their theologies could not be more diverse. Charles Finney and Jonathan Edwards may look similar outwardly, but they had dynamic doctrinal differences which led them to vastly different conclusions. The doctrine of original sin, justification by faith alone, and God’s sovereignty versus man’s freewill are all controversial topics which Finney and Edwards fought hard to defend—their side of the argument. Which one held to the biblical position? Join five brothers, the Allen boys, as they interview great men of the Christian faith including Dr. Joseph Morecraft, Scott Brown, Dr. Andy Davis and many more! The antagonistic positions of Edwards and Finney will be presented in a conversational tone as the evidence is weighed in light of God’s Holy Word.
