Mr. Safeguard

2005 | Narrative | Semi-Finalist

Mr. Safeguard is an allegory which seeks to show the absurdity of the modern concept that it is somehow unhealthy to protect our children from moral and spiritual danger. It does so by showing a community which refuses to allow children to wear coats outside in the winter, and forces them to sleep outside in the snow, because they do not want their children to be “sheltered” or “overprotected.”
