Just a Desert Boy

2005 | Documentary | Semi-Finalist

Just a Desert Boy tells the story of Benson Ekuwon and his ministry among his people, the Turkana, who are a primitive unreached people group in Northwestern Kenya. Benson became a Christian early in his life and began to witness to his people. He then attended missions training school and went back to his people, where he planted eight churches and had more than 3,500 accept Christ as their savior in two years. His goal is to plant 100 churches in ten years and to remove his people from the “unreached” list. Benson concludes with a challenge to the viewer to get involved in the ministries that God has called them to, saying that if God can use a nomadic desert boy, He can use anyone.
