Doyle and the Big Splash

2005 | Narrative | Semi-Finalist

According to Psalm 100:3, “The Lord is God... we are his people... the sheep of His pasture.” The “fun loving” Woolly family from Greenville works hard in Doyle and the Big Splash to put things back together after Doyle, the main character, breaks the rules in an effort to make his puppet show a “big splash” for his buddies. Doyle, ever the performer, learns important lessons the hard way, about the subtleties of true honesty and obedience, proper responses to mess-ups, and the general consequences of sin. Ultimately his faith and relationship with the Lord prevails, bringing a heartwarming reconciliation with God and with his dad, who makes a tough decision to leave work early to rescue his son.
